Registry fees change without notice; these are the figures the collection engine budgets against as of 2026-08-12. No case runs every fee-bearing source — the planner selects by jurisdiction, by the identifiers you can supply, and by the remaining budget, and the report lists exactly which were searched and which were skipped.

The report fee covers those searches, the identity resolution that decides which of the forty Robert Smiths is yours, and the writing of a document with a citation on every line. Before you pay

When you should not buy anything

Refunds are expensive for both of us, and the honest way to avoid them is to say who should keep their money.

You want a criminal record check

Only police services and the RCMP can issue one, and it needs the subject’s fingerprints or consent. Nothing we sell substitutes for it, and any site that claims otherwise is selling you a court-record search under a false name.

You need it for an employment, tenancy, credit, or insurance decision

That use makes the report a consumer report and the seller a consumer reporting agency. We are not registered as one and we refuse those purposes at intake. Ask us and we will name a registered provider, at no charge.

The free scan says there is nothing there

The scan exists to tell you whether the records exist before you pay for their contents. When it reports no material hits, that is a real answer and buying the report will not change it.

Your lawyer has not exhausted disclosure yet

In a family law or judgment matter, a court-ordered disclosure obligation reaches bank accounts and tax returns that no public-records search can touch. Records research complements that process; it does not replace it.
