Before you start
Four steps, and the second one is the serious one
Sleuthify is self-serve: you set the purpose, you run the search, and the record of why it was lawful is the one you sign. That is what the next few minutes are for.
01
Purpose
Pick the lawful purpose that actually describes your matter, and the province that governs it. Each option shows the statutory basis we rely on and the scope limit that comes with it.
02
Declaration
Eleven questions about what you intend to do with the report. Every one has to be answered; leaving one blank is not a no.
03
Subject details
Everything you already know about the person or company. Nothing here is mandatory beyond a name, but each identifier you add is one more way to prove the record belongs to the right person.
04
Review & sign
The declaration written out in full from your own answers, then your legal name as the signature. Read it before you sign it.
What it costs to find out
Nothing yet. Filling this in is free and nothing is charged until you choose a paid tier and reach checkout. Preliminary Scan — under 3 minutes, fully automated — tells you whether a paid report would add anything at all. Full comparison is on the pricing page.
You will need an account to submit. You can fill everything in first — we ask for the sign-in at the end, not the beginning.
Sleuthify is a public-records search platform, not a consumer reporting agency. Reports may not be used to make decisions about employment, tenancy, credit, or insurance. The complete list of work we will not take on is at what we won’t do.
